If you’re passionate about science and want to be part of a high paced testing laboratory, this role is for you As a Laboratory Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting both commercial and research-related chemical analyses. Your responsibilities will include:
Lab Maintenance - ensuring the laboratory is in top shape by cleaning equipment, glassware and benches.

Sample Preparation - preparing gas sampling flasks and sample bottles as required for analysis.

Clerical Duties - assisting with basic laboratory clerical tasks, including booking samples into our information management system.

Library Management - Managing the sample bottle library.

Biosecurity Compliance - handling the treatment, disposal, and record-keeping of biosecurity risk materials.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

- Effective computer skills
- Ability to work accurately and to adhere to strict procedures
- Good attention to detail, including clear and accurate record keeping
- No laboratory experience is required
- Good communication and good time management skills
- The ability to work well in a team and to cooperate with colleagues in helping the laboratory to fulfil its functions
