**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**:
You will bring your expertise and mātauranga of Māori specialist secondary and primary mental health. Your leadership skills and expertise will encompass Te Ao Māori solutions and you will be a champion for Māori health equity.

The Oranga Hinengaro team continues to grow in capacity, and we thrive on working to ensure that equity of mental health and addiction access and outcomes for Māori informs and drives our mahi. As a valued team member, you will influence, advise, direct, and inform colleagues and decision makers. You will do this alongside an equally committed team that will support and challenge you, and be connected with hauora Māori partners, lived experience networks and clinical colleagues all within a changing health environment.
We are committed to ongoing training opportunities, along with opportunities of networking and engaging across the sector. The mahi will enable you to travel from time to time, growing your network and supporting key relationships, partners, and stakeholders.
**Moū - About you**:

**Ideally you will have**:
- Tertiary qualification in a health or relevant field
- Registration under a professional body or working towards one
- Experience working in Mental Health Hospital Specialist Services either within a hospital or provider setting delivering secondary care/residential services of at least 5 years
**Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation**
Te Aka Whai Ora - Māori Health Authority is a newly established independent statutory entity responsible for enabling greater Māori participation in the design and delivery of health services for the betterment of all. This will be achieved by embedding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi as central components of Aotearoa New Zealand's health reform.
Te Aka Whai Ora will play an essential role in enhancing Māori rangatiratanga, ensuring everyone has the equitable access to healthcare and supporting whānau to take control of their own health and wellbeing. Te Aka Whai Ora will work in partnership with Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health and Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand and enable Iwi-Māori Partnerships Boards (IMPBs), Māori health providers, iwi, hapū and Māori communities to achieve Māori health aspirations.
