Auckland Museum is a much-loved culture and heritage organisation at the heart of Auckland's identity, committed to outstanding management of its world-class collections, developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events, educational programmes and the permanent and volunteer staff who tell the Museum's stories. We are Auckland's home of commemoration as well as the country’s oldest research institution and a major tourist destination.

This is a fixed term, part time role (12 months, 0.8FTE/32 hours per week) which will provide support to research activities both within and outside of the Museum. This will include supporting the Museum’s annual research activities such as the Summer Student Programme and MUSEUMS 702 course, on-boarding Research Associates and co-ordinating the upcoming refresh of the Museum’s Research Strategy in 2024-2025, in addition to supporting the wider Research team on externally funded projects.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
To be successful in this role, you will offer:

- Previous experience undertaking or assisting with research activities (essential), particularly the administrative side of research
- Prior research promotional work to both internal and external stakeholders is highly advantageous
- Proven effective written and/or oral communication skills
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
- Proven ability to logically analyse issues and propose solutions to obstacles
- Evidence of ability to work collaboratively and in cross-functional teams
