Our client is one of New Zealand’s most renowned and respected commercial/industrial flooring applicators in the country and has been operating for over 21 years. Based in Hamilton, our client is seeking to expand their team with a diligent and conscientious Leading Hands.
You will need to be a friendly, easy-going person with a good sense of humour who can easily fit into their team. As a Leading Hand, you will provide a high level of assistance and support to the Foreman/Site Manager, in the laying of epoxy / polyurethane coatings, to the Client’s specifications.
If you are not a Leading Hand but have a painting or plastering background, then we want to hear from you as well. If you are a quick learner and want to grow yourself, this might be the right opportunity for you.
**Duties include**:
- Organising the Team on site, to ensure all work is performed to a high level of finish.
- Reviewing and managing the overall project to ensure time frame deadlines are met.
- Liaising with Client and Contractors’ Representatives on site as required.
- Ensuring all relevant equipment has up to date electrical compliance tags and that the correct equipment is selected and available for use on the current job.
- Ensuring that all product is mixed and applied according to manufactures specifications.
- Completing daily quality assurance and relevant health and safety documentation relating to the project.
- Ensuring all quality assurance and health and safety documentation is fully completed and passed onto the Operations Manager for evaluation.
**To be successful in this role you will need**:
- Experience as a Leading Hand, Applicator or similar role.
- Knowledge and experience in resin coving, broadcast systems, roller coating and self-smoothing coatings. Previous experience in painting, plastering, or trowelling an advantage.
- Exceptional adherence to site safety and safe work practises.
- Ability to read construction plans and identify specification requirements.
- A strong delivery / work ethic and willingness to get the job done and work under pressure.
- Be prepared to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, when required and to be available to attend meetings and meet business and client/customer demands.

**Salary**: $31.00 - $37.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability
