Yard Person

We have an exciting opportunity for a someone who would like to progress their carrier in a growing company. The role is being offered is in our Otahuhu Yard as a Yard Person & Delivery Driver. You must be able to follow instructions and use your initiative and will be charge of the yard & should be capable to work unsupervised. This role is Monday to Friday full time and a few hours on Saturday. Minimum 40 hours with busy time leading up to 55+ hours per week.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:

- A current drivers licence with a solid driving history
- Current Forklift licence
- Good customer service skills with the ability to use smart phone
- Proven ability to self-manage your workload, problem solve and make sound decisions
- An understanding and commitment to Health, Safety and Compliance to a high level
- Satisfactory background screening checks which include verbal reference checks, Criminal, ACC history and medical check.

Job Description:
- Managing vehicles in the yard
- Using the forklift as required
- Cleanliness and maintenance of the yard (inside and outside)
- Escorting customers into the yard
- To follow all company policies, procedures and guidelines and escalate any concerns as necessary, including external regulatory requirements when carrying out their duties
- To handle customer complaints with courtesy and where necessary, pass them on to the Manager/Owner.
- To report all accidents, injuries and incidents to the Manager/Owner as soon as practicable but no later than the end of your shift.
- To adhere to all health, safety and security procedures
- To be prepared to work overtime and take on additional responsibilities as requested by the Manager/Owner.
- Meet all company policies and legal obligations in respect of operating vehicles and any other equipment, including requirements of licences, endorsements and certificates.
- Take an active role & contribute positively to a healthy and safe workplace.
- Any other reasonable duties required of the employee by the employer
