Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
The Community-based Orthopaedic Triage Service (COTS) is a Physiotherapy-led Orthopaedic triage and assessment service. The aim of the service is to enable people across the Bay of Plenty to manage their health and well-being (specifically their musculoskeletal conditions) through a proactive recovery-based pathway.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced administrator to support clients/patients/urihaumate and their whānau as they interact with COTS. The role also provides support and administration functions to the COTS team. The role will be based in Tauranga and works within the surgical services and Allied Health physiotherapy COTS team.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide administration and customer service support for COTS. This role requires the ability to connect compassionately and collaboratively with clients and health care professionals, via telephone and technology-based communications.
As COTS administrator you will be the first and central point of contact for COTS, responsible for timely processing of COTS referrals and on-referrals from the service, patient scheduling into COTS and transcribing clinical letter. You will be building relationships with clients/patients/urihaumate and key health care providers in the community and the hospital.
This role is a developing one that will change and adapt with the COTS service. We therefore need someone who will embrace change and flexibility, and drive improvements in our system and service response.

As our COTS administrator, you will be motivated to help people feel supported and confident in the service. We pride ourselves on providing a high-quality service and are looking for an administrator with advanced computer skills, strong system and process administration focus, excellent communication skills, along with an eye for detail, recoding accurate and precise information.
We are looking for an administrator with a minimum of 2 years' experience in office administration. Ideally you will have previous experience providing administration and customer support in a health environment.
You will be confident in your own skills and knowledge and comfortable working within a high-performance team. You will enjoy demonstrating your high level of organisational skills and flexibility to ensure you are able to manage a challenging agenda and workload.
