Western Energy provides Well services to the geothermal industry in New Zealand and abroad, predominantly servicing steam supplies to geothermal power stations. Our business is all about delivering quality results, innovation, creative solutions and working with our clients, to find new ways to deliver results. We want team players who will make an impact.

We are looking for entry level Trainee Operators, who want to develop their skills in operating and maintaining a wide range of specialized equipment. These roles would suit those who have an interest in engineering and mechanical/electrical services. We offer a career pathway for developing staff, and you will gain experience across the different services we provide.

We are seeking keen people who want a career and who would like to learn from experienced supervisors, people who want to be challenged and have an interest in a hands-on work, predominately in the field.
- Have a sound mechanical or electrical interest,
- Want a career in the renewable energy sector,
- Have a willingness to challenge themselves,
- Are positive, professional and with a “can-do attitude”,
- Are prepared to speak-up, challenge the status quo,
- Practical thinkers who are not afraid to get their hands dirty,
- Able to carry out physical tasks,
- Able to work occasional shiftwork, weekends or nights (when required),
- Able to pass regular drug and alcohol testing, and
- Have a minimum of a full manual drivers licence and to be able to work towards obtaining a class 2 truck licence.
