**About the Opportunity**

Drive innovation and contribute to a team leading the software development of Tait's world-class mission critical products:

- Undertake requirements capture, analysis and modelling, and contribute to design and code reviews, and the team's codebase.
- Enhance the quality of our products by participating in feedback and review opportunities with team members, and testing the products we build.
- Contribute on various complex and challenging projects.
- Help to grow careers by engaging with Tait's mentoring program, and diving into the many opportunities to learn something new.
- Collaborate, develop and share knowledge as part of a continually evolving, high functioning team with a great team culture.

This Software Design Engineer opportunity will attract an annual base salary in the range of $65k to $100k per annum, and are full-time, 40 hours per week.

**Skills & Experience**

We are looking for people with:

- A keen interest in technology and solving problems
- Experience developing software in a collaborative team environment
- A passion for working in a team and working with the group to collectively improve our practices and behaviours

You will also need to have a good grasp on how to write software. Specifically:

- A solid understanding of the software design principles and patterns
- Proficiency in C++ is required
- Proficiency in the Vue.js framework is required, using Linux as a development environment
- Familiarity with radio communications systems is desired.
- Familiarity with Go language is desired

Skills and experience in the following areas would also be useful, though not required:

- SIP based protocols
- Networking
- Web Frontend / APIs
- Unit testing and exploratory testing
