You:
This role is suited to a person who has already worked as an Health & Safety Officer for a Main Contractor or subcontract in the building sector or potentially as a Site Supervisor or Manager who has a strong focus in delivering positive health and safety outcomes and a genuine interest in a career in health and safety.

**Responsibilities**:
In this role, you will report to the HSE Manager and be responsible for running the HSE aspects on a major building site in the Wellington CBD. supported by the HSE Manager, Project Manager and Site Manager to ensure safety is the number 1 priority for all on site.

**Duties**:

- Conducting site inductions and inspections
- Implementing Health & Safety policies on site
- Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act
- Managing interaction with subcontractors
- Reviewing HSE documentation
- Updating the Risk Management and Hazard register
- Managing tool box talks and safety meetings
- Reporting any safety incidents / near misses
- Undertaking investigations
- Being approachable to all on site
