**The Opportunity**

This is an amazing opportunity for a Building Seismic Restraint Engineer to join an established team of engineers and technicians delivering seismic engineering projects across New Zealand in our Wellington office. You will be part of the leadership group and will lead the continued growth and development of our seismic restraint business.

As an Engineer, you’ll wear many hats including leading packages of work, detailed design, project coordination, client relationship management, and technical development. This is a varied role that offers a career path to Senior Engineer and beyond.

**Overall, you can expect to get involved with projects that will require you to**:

- Work on all parts of building seismic restraint processes including planning, designing and implementation stages
- Analyse relevant data and information, and compile analysed data and information into reports and proposals

Aligned with the level of the role, we envision that the base salary component will be in the region of NZ$80,000-100,000, depending on skills and experience. The role is full time and permanent, with minimum guaranteed hours of 40 hours a week.

**About you**

We are seeking a Building Seismic Restraint Engineer with at least 4 years of relevant work experience completing structural analysis/design project work. You would have a working competency with relevant New Zealand standards such as NZS1170 and NZS4219 or be willing to work towards this.

You may come from either a consulting or construction background with a passion for successful project delivery and strong relationship building. You’ll have the ability to work effectively within our large and diverse project teams while demonstrating a proactive and positive problem-solving approach and attitude.

You will have experience leading others delivering relevant engineering projects from design to construction phase. You will enjoy a challenge, be action-focused and comfortable with making practical design decisions in a high pace design and construction environment.

An ability to work with Revit software and competency in programming/scripting (Python, Dynamo, C# Revit API, Grasshopper etc) will be an advantage.

Special consideration will be given to those who have a working knowledge of building interior construction and building services systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire-protection), including understanding engineering terms, industry practice, and trade-specific experience.
