Join Our Team as a Community Activator
- 20 hours per week, 6-month fixed-term contract.
- Based at Miramar & Maupuia Community Centre with collaboration across local organizations and Community Centres.
- Flexible work hours with occasional evening and/or weekend commitments.
- The salary is $57824 pro rata

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | about the role

In this role you will:

- Coordinate, support, or lead events, services, projects, and initiatives.
- Manage and engage volunteers to maximize community impact.
- Employ a Community Led Development approach to identify and support new projects, listening to community needs and fostering collaboration.
- Network, collaborate, and conduct outreach with local groups, organizations, and community members.
- Promote the Community Centre through various channels including social media, website management, and poster creation.

Mōhou ake | About you

To succeed in the role you will have the following:

- Understanding and passion for Community Led Development.
- Commitment to and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with knowledge of tikanga and/or te reo Māori preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Excellent written, online (especially social media), and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite or online tools like Canva preferred.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and facilitate meetings/events.
- Capacity to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve.
- Local knowledge and connections within the Te Motu Kairangi area.
