Te Mahi/About the Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Maintenance Team Lead to join our dedicated Facilities & Asset team at Nurse Maude, based in Christchurch. This role works Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
The Maintenance Team Lead contributes to the success of the organisation by effectively coordinating and performing maintenance activities and the day-to-day operation of Nurse Maude's site facilities, assets, and grounds. This role requires a proactive and engaged team leader with strong planning and critical thinking abilities, capable of balancing multiple priorities while consistently identifying and implementing the most efficient solutions. The position ensures all onsite contractors are properly inducted, signed in, and fully compliant with Nurse Maude's Health and Safety requirements throughout the course of their work. The role also includes the leadership and coordination of the maintenance team to ensure high standards of service delivery.

The successful applicant will have:
- Facilities Maintenance: Proven experience in coordinating day-to-day facilities maintenance, including both reactive and proactive tasks.
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to perform hands-on repairs.
- Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a maintenance team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Contractor Management: Experience in managing external contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and overseeing their work quality.
- Record-Keeping: Experience in maintaining accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities and asset management.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Experience in ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate computer skills and confidence using Microsoft Office
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset and a high level of initiative
- A full, clean NZ driver's licence and eligibility to work in New Zealand
You'll also either hold or be willing to obtain:
- A Test and Tag certificate
- Site Safe Foundation Passport (Building and Construction)
- Chemical Awareness Training certificate
Experience in the healthcare sector is advantageous, and a working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles is essential.
