An opportunity has risen to work as a **Librarian **in the Kaipātiki Local Board Libraries, based at Birkenhead Library.

Birkenhead Library is a busy community library serving a diverse and vibrant community. Our library whānau is focused on caring for each other, our community, and our environment.

In this customer-focused role, you will be a senior member of the library team contributing to the day-to-day running of the library and frontline library service. You will lead the team by example with your excellent customer service and enable a great experience for our customers. You will be working closely with our local community through a range of programmes. You will be supporting staff through training, assisting customers with technical queries and accessing information resources available through the library, and supporting and/or delivering exciting learning programmes to enhance the community’s digital literacy.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

You will be a champion of anything and everything technology, ready and excited to share your digital knowledge and expertise.

You will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, energy and enthusiasm, a sound knowledge of library technologies and processes, and an ability to collaborate with team members in the development, implementation and delivery of services and programmes. You will have the natural ability to relate well with people of all ages and backgrounds. Attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and excellent organisational skills will help in this role.
