These collections provide a unique record of the activities of New Zealand individuals, whanau, iwi and organisations throughout history. We have an exciting opportunity for a librarian to join the Alexander Turnbull Library and be part of a major project to digitise and preserve New Zealand's audiovisual documentary heritage. This is a collaborative project with Ngā Taonga Sound and Vision and Archives New Zealand As the Librarian, AV Arrangement & Description, you are a key part of the team helping prepare the library's audiovisual collections for digitisation by ensuring they are described and discoverable. The key elements of this role include:

- Working closely with the Audiovisual Digitisation team to prepare items for digitisation
- Liaising with the AV Research Librarian, collection care colleagues and curators to arrange, house and describe unpublished audiovisual collections in accordance with ATL standards and processes
- Supporting the project team to ensure all audiovisual collections are identified and described prior to digitisation
- Contributing to a process of continuous review and improvement instituted within the team
- Working with the wider Audiovisual Digitisation Team to ensure the digitisation plan is meeting its goals and targets To be successful in the role you will need:

- A post-graduate Library & Information Studies qualification is expected, although other GLAM-sector qualifications and/or experience working in a Library or research institution will also be considered.
- Experience with arrangement and description of archival collections or cataloguing, particularly of audiovisual materials would be an advantage.
- The ability to work within a fast-paced project team, delivering to agreed targets, and sharing information, tools, and resources across the three institutions as appropriate.
- Knowledge and understanding of tikanga Māori is expected. The Alexander Turnbull Library is part of the National Library of New Zealand and sits within the Information and Knowledge Services branch, the Department's epicentre of information management, culture and heritage.' The nature of each partnership will depend on the goals and needs of the entity.
