The Area Manager is responsible for working with our people to deliver great customer outcomes, day in a day out in the way in which we repair and replace autoglass and deliver to our defined customer experience. This role is responsible for Smith&Smith® corporate service locations, mobile and Authorised Dealers, having financial accountability for delivery of business objectives, budgets and targets.
This role is critical to ensuring that there are consistent practices and processes across their respective area, and that these align to defined standards and Belron best practice. This role has accountability for both corporate locations and Authorised Dealers and as such, must be able to navigate both corporate responsibility and stakeholder management and engagement with the Authorised Dealers.
Critical to this role is a focus on operational excellence and consistency, people and performance. For this role, operational excellence means adherence to operational frameworks and to Belron and industry/regulatory standards. From a people perspective this role is accountable for health and safety and the recruitment, retention, development and wellbeing of their team. As a leader of area performance, this role will focus on the delivery of key performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives that will drive enhanced operational performance across the area.
The Area Manager will have a wide geographical remit, with corporate locations and Authorised Dealers that will require regular, scheduled contact, both face to face, and using other communication tools and techniques. A key challenge of the role will be ensuring that area initiatives and operational requirements and communication is delivered in such a way as to improve performance but also in a way that maintains relationships and a sense of team. Critical to this is the growth and development of the Leading Hand role as a key part of the Area team.
With responsibility for managing the Authorised Dealer relationship, this role will ensure that corporate standards and Belron procedures and best practice are adhered to. In the absence of any formal reporting relationship, the Area Manager will need to use influencing and relationship/stakeholder management skills to ensure performance is at the required level.
