Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manager with a clinical background to join the District Surgical Service with the role based at Wellington Regional Hospital. The role maintains oversight of our planned care activity, ensuring our waiting lists are managed effectively. Although service responsibility sits with the Operations Manager and Clinical Leader of each specialty, this role is responsible for maintaining an organisational wide view of planned care performance. It is responsible for monitoring performance and providing feedback to the services.
The role will work with the services to continually improve performance and ensure that all services meet the required performance standards. Standards include but are not limited to objectives set by Te Whatu Ora. You will also lead the Planned Care team, consisting of Clinical Nurse Coordinators, booking and waitlist administrators.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Supporting the delivery of elective planned care services against contract through effective planning and monitoring delivery
- Leading and implementing change initiatives
- Leading the Planned Care Team
- Overseeing daily patient and hospital flow

Moū - About you
Ideally you will have experience working in the New Zealand healthcare delivery environment along with general and operational management experience. You will also be someone who has good people leadership skills, project management skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

**Other skills and experience we are looking for**:

- Experience working in the New Zealand healthcare delivery environment
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Intermediate numerical reasoning skills and analytical skills: confident using data to tell a story.
- Good general and operational management skills including organising, prioritising and delegating
- Good people leadership and strong relationship management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
