Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This is a brand new role reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, with responsibility for supporting and developing an embedded culture of health, safety and wellbeing across the motu. The role will be directly responsible for implementing a new operating model for Occupational Health, Health & Safety & Wellbeing to ensure that we create a safe and thriving environment for all our teams.
You will work in close partnership with the executive leadership team, the Board Health & Safety Committee, our union partners, and Te Aka Whai Ora-Maori Health Authority to enable the effective implementation of nationally agreed strategies to support the transformation of our organisational culture and equitable access to support for our teams.
Mōu | About you
We're looking for a transformational leader who can show a significant pedigree in large, complex organisations. You'll be able to show us that you've led the design, implementation and embedding of significant change, connecting across all levels of the organization. You'll be an adept communicator who is able to engage customers and stakeholders inside and outside Te Whatu Ora.
Cultural competency is intrinsic to our successful operation, and your background achieving outcomes through meaningful partnerships will be essential.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Demonstrable system-wide experience in leading and managing through transformational system change, both within the organisation and externally
- Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a Health & Safety function within an organisation where a high level of organisational acumen and political nous was required
- Significant experience at leadership level within large public facing multi-faceted or complex environments with multiple consumer and political interests and expectations

- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn and grow
