Te Whatu Ora Health NZ Waitaha Canterbury is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Maintenance Operations Management team as a Maintenance Manager for Hillmorton & Princess Margaret Hospitals.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance and engineering infrastructure, plant, and buildings for the Hillmorton & Princess Margaret Hospitals property assets. You will manage a small team of skilled trades people as well as external contractors.

Responsibilities also include:
- Contribute to the planning, budgeting, and implementation of maintenance on engineering infrastructure, plant, and buildings.
- Develop cost-effective maintenance solutions that ensure the forecast life cycle of the property assets.
- Contribute to strategic planning, business proposals, and development of capital projects. Manage engineering and building activities at the Hillmorton & Princess Margaret Hospitals site.
- Oversee day-to-day management of systems and infrastructure related to engineering and building services.
- Ensure accurate and timely communication of information to Engineering Operations staff and the Maintenance Operations Manager.
- Build and manage a high-performing Hillmorton & Princess Margaret Hospitals Engineering operations team.
- Ensure all work meets relevant quality and regulatory standards.
- Manage fire safety systems at the Hillmorton & Princess Margaret Hospitals site.
- Ensure reliable energy supply across the site.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Maintenance and Operations Manager.

**Essential**
- An engineering-related degree or trade qualification with equivalent experience.
- Previous experience managing industrial plant and equipment using a building management system.
- Experience working in accordance with statutory requirements, including Building Warrant of Fitness.
- Experience in risk management techniques and resource allocation.
**Desirable**
- Experience with Asbestos and Passive Fire management.
- Previous experience in a managerial role.
