Our Continuous Computing Practice provides specialist platform, infrastructure, network and software services to our customers. Our team of experienced consultants engage on the design, implementation and management of cloud, hybrid and mobile platforms.
We are looking for an experienced Linux Engineer to join our dynamic team in Auckland and work with the wider Theta practices to provide exceptional services as you deliver systems engineering and consulting services to our varied base of customers. You will be involved in the design, implementation and operational management of Linux and UNIX solutions to on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments and will use industry best practices to develop and deliver secure technology solutions.
You're someone who will enjoy being part of the activities to provide continuous environment optimisation, as well as be an active part of the new projects' lifecycle. With your excellent verbal and written communications skills, a knack for problem solving and a passion for ensuring clients receive exceptional quality of service, you will also work with the sales team to provide technical pre-sales and post-sales support.
You will have at least 6 years of relevant experience, in the following areas:

- Working with IT enterprise environments including public cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
- Experience with product technologies which may include one or more of Red Hat, Ubuntu, AIX, Oracle Linux, OVM, Apache Tomcat or other Java EE platforms, container technologies etc.
- Strong experience working with management and deployment methodologies and processes including CI/CD based deployments and DevOps practices
- Experience in IT operational configuration, management, and automation for always-up, always-available services
- Working knowledge of source control and editor environments; Git, VS Code etc.
- Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management experience; Terraform, ARM Templates, CloudFormation or Ansible advantageous
- Familiarity with Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption frameworks desirable
- Strong skills with scripting - Perl, sh/bash/ksh/zsh, Python
- Working knowledge of RDBMS and noSQL DB platforms is desirable
- Experience in IT/IS consulting and presales desirable
- Availability for an element of out of hours work requiring inclusion in an on-call roster
