We are currently recruiting a talented Linux Engineer to work with a well-known managed service provider at Auckland Central region. They have a great name in the market for their expertise, technologies and services.

**Your new role**

As the Linux Specialist, you will assist in the development and support the Linux Managed Desktop system. You will advise the clients in promoting, developing and supporting new and innovative ways that Linux can be delivered as a service. You will also provide 3rd line support to the organisations services and monitor call queues and handle requests.

You will work with team members and stakeholders to build and maintain excellent working relationships, ensuring adoption of standards and best practice for IT Service Management in line with defined ITIL processes

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Proven experience in Linux scripting and/or automation.
- Experience of 3rd line support in a large technical environment
- Experience of Installing, maintaining and administration of Linux (e.g., RHEL & Debian) infrastructure and associated software (e.g., LAMP Stack, Tomcat, etc) would be ideal.
- Experience of using configuration management tools
- Practical experience of managing a medium to large Linux estate using configuration management tools (e.g., puppet, ansible etc.)
- Understanding of networking concepts (e.g., IPv4/IPv6, Routing, VPNs, Firewalls & Linux Networking) would be ideal
- ITIL Foundation or Linux environment qualifications would be desirable but not essential
