**A bit about our stack**
Our legacy public API was written in PHP with Lumen framework and is currently used by more than 120 partners (and a mountain of others lining up to integrate) as well as our 5 internally built mobile apps, which are built in React Native. This API is currently being replaced with a full Laravel stack and will be one of your immediate challenges to tackle. This allows us to build APIs for our partners, for the new React.js frontend and our mobile apps.

Auckland HQ is where the bulk of the engineering horse power is based but our London operation is the turbo charger and both continue to grow. We run a squad structure (currently 5 across London & Auckland), follow an agile methodology, and collaborate on all aspects of the development stack to produce elegant code.

**What your typical day would look like?**
- Someone say coffee? Barista coffee - Check
- Some banter with your team and start the day off on the right foot or hoof
- Stand up and collaborate on potential issues, prioritise and close off previous tasks
- Assist your team with code reviews and peer testing, while they do the same to your code
- Design and build features working with your squad, Product Owners, and Designers
- Problem solve, and exterminate bugs with speed and precision
- Diagnose and rectify system slowness
- Develop simple yet scalable solutions for complex workflows
- Transfer legacy features to our new shiny API
- Coach and mentor junior team members so that they too fly to the highest clouds
- Share your thoughts with an open-minded team who love a good idea and will embrace new technologies, methodologies, and philosophies

We run a pod structure within ezyVet's wider squad (yes you get to co-lab with a lot of talented people), follow an agile methodology, and collaborate on all aspects of the development stack to produce quality code.

**What your typical day would look like?**
- Arrive at our vibrant new modern office in Freeman's Bay, get started with a barista coffee from our kitchen. Catch up with your co-workers and take in the view of the harbour.
- Check out a pull request on your top of the range HP kit Code review and teamwork are our technical superpower.
- Daily Stand up to remove those pesky impediments - we value collaboration here and follow agile principles.
- Tackle that coding problem or collaborate senior team members to help build solutions.
- Over lunch, kick back on our sunny deck, head down to our onsite gym or relax in the park.
- Reviewing fellow coder's code, learning ticks of the trade, discuss exciting problems with your team members and keep collaborating

**What we need**:

- Backend experience is desired though some neat personal projects could get you over the line:

You strive to write well tested, readable code.
- A fast learner with an open and curious mind.
- A team player and excellent communicator and collaborator with technical skills to contribute.

**Bonus points for**:

- Some knowledge of PHP Laravel, mySQL DB, Reactjs, React Native would be a bonus but we're ready to learn together
- Desire to work in an agile SaaS environment.
- A good story to tell about a challenging project you've contributed to and/or delivered.
