Join our team and make a significant impact by providing evidence-based analysis to senior stakeholders and supporting the Principal Advisor, Governance to support the Minister and tertiary institutions to appoint council members, and develop, publish, and promote good governance practice. The MCO team is sector-facing, delivery focused and operates in a fast-paced environment. The team is at the coal face of TEC's monitoring function and has a broad coverage of the current issues and challenges facing the tertiary sector. In this role, you will help deliver TEC's financial monitoring and risk management functions, as well as provide support to the external governance work programme. **He angitutanga**:_About the Role_** - Lead financial analysis and monitoring of TEOs using established processes and tools; identify and mitigate risks for long-term sustainability. - Collaborate closely with the Principal Advisor - Governance to manage the Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills' appointments process for tertiary institution councils and support a programme that provides inductions and promotes good governance. - Contribute to MCO's risk management function and reporting to the TEC Board. - Enhance the financial monitoring frameworks, external governance work programme, and reporting processes to stakeholders. **He korero mou**:_What we are looking for_** - Strong business acumen with the ability to work with complex financial information and experience in financial viability analysis. - Exceptional relationship management skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including Chancellors/Chairs, council members, staff in tertiary education institutions, other government agencies, and the TEC's executive leadership team. - A proven understanding of the machinery of government, including Cabinet and Cabinet committee processes, with good political 'nous.' - Ability to analyse complex problems and explore broad solutions. - Excellent writing skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely. **_Nga ahuatanga kei a matou_**:_What's in it for you?_** - Three additional (TEC Days) leave days - Flexible working - Remuneration from $100k to 118k+ 3% Kiwisaver depending on skills and experience. **Me pehea te tuku tono**:_How to Apply_** The closing date for this role is** 5:00pm, Tuesday 21 January 2025.** Please note interviews for this vacancy are scheduled for late January 2025.
