Applicants will need to have a passion to care for the elderly in a kind and empathetic manner and be prepared to work in a busy and challenging environment.

Successful applicants must be available to work rostered and rotating 8 hours shifts 24/7 across all seven days of the week.

**Mō tātou Ratonga | About our Service**

As part of the Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service, Matariki cares mostly for post-acute patients who have been inpatients at Waikato or Thames hospitals and need time to recover prior to their discharge.

Matariki has a rehabilitative focus and also cares for palliative and day care patients.

**Mōu | About you**
- previous health care assistant experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- a current NZ work permit.
- previous work experience in a New Zealand health care setting.
- preference will be given to those who have achieved health related NZQA standards.

This role includes working under the direction and supervision of the registered nursing team.
