Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Clinical Education and Training Unit (CETU) has secured funding from Health New Zealand | Te Whatu ora for a two-year pilot programme to support NZREX doctors to train via primary care pathways (i.e. general practices in the region) after the original 6-months in a large tertiary or metropolitan hospital.
The role of the education manager is to oversee all aspects of the programme; its development, delivery and monitoring. You will develop a close and supportive role with the ten doctors selected for the programme. You will report to the Clinical Training Director at the Waikato hospital and a Clinical Governance group

Mōu | About you
Required skills & experience you will need, to be considered for this role:
- A Bachelor's or equivalent degree in medical education (5-6+ years experience in medical education would preclude this requirement)
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A passion for designing and completing projects that meet strategic objectives and are of high quality.
- Proven ability to be outcome focused and able to prioritise, set goals and achieve results
- Previous experience working in medical education e.g., previous
- program coordination, project management and continuous quality improvement.Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- Able to use data and information to clearly define the project scope and develop the evaluation framework
- Strong administrative skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom) and databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information and concepts to a range of audiences, chair meetings, lead groups and coordinate people to achieve a specific task on time.
