Our New Plymouth team is one of the larger engineering consultancies in the Taranaki area, seeing growth across New Zealand and internationally. **About You**

With a range of industry leading projects starting, our **New Plymouth** team has an opportunity for an experienced **Senior/ Lead** **Mechanical Designer **to join the team. This role offers an opportunity to provide valued piping design project support to Verbrec as part of ongoing works. Ideally, you will have experience in the areas of Oil & Gas, Mining, Infrastructure, and other heavy industries.

**About the role**

As the **Mechanical Designer **you will offer:

- A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience across Mechanical and piping design,
- Experience in the oil and gas industry,
- Experience in plant layout and design,
- Experience with plant and processing equipment,
- Experience in brownfield and greenfield projects,
- Experience in pricing and scheduling jobs,
- Provide a consistent, high quality and professional design service,
- Industry leading design skills from concept stage to project delivery,
- Local knowledge and industry experience to continue building our portfolio of clients and projects,
- Liaising with the other disciplines to ensure we meet the project outcomes
- Current skills and knowledge in 3D modelling software packages including:
- Inventor experience essential,
- Autodesk AutoCAD (and verticals) is an advantage,
- Microstation experience is an advantage,
- A role model who can naturally lead, guide and mentor our junior team members to deliver.
