**About the Role**

Reporting into the NZ Safety and Sustainability Manager, this position offers an outstanding opportunity to build on your past experience in Safety & Sustainability (S&S). Primarily implementing fatality & injury prevention, sustainability projects and injury management, providing advice and assistance on safety culture improvement, health, safety and sustainability management systems as well as current safety legislation. You will support line leaders by assisting with health, safety, sustainability, Return to Work, and training improvements and associated day to day activities.

Occasional travel will be required to support our sites outside of Auckland.

**Responsibilities**
- Analyse site and business S&S risks and develop improvement plans in line with site strategies and business imperatives
- Participate with the Operations Lead Team to effectively communicate priorities and drive improvement initiatives
- Own and drive site S&S communication plan, engaging frontline employees to foster positive S&S culture and completing assigned improvement actions
- Support line managers with initial incident response & reporting and lead incident investigation processes. Conduct incident analysis and trend reporting
- Manage S&S regulatory and licensing compliance (e.g. hazardous substances, waste management requirements) & occupational hygiene program.

**Skills & Experience**

Experience in a manufacturing industry or related environment would be an advantage and you’ll have a tertiary qualification in safety or a related discipline. You will ideally have had some exposure to project implementation and management, reporting, and will be willing to get involved in tasks at all levels of complexity.

You’ll be passionate about safety performance You will be confident at delivering individual and group training to diverse groups and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. You're able to engage easily with senior business leaders and equally with middle management and factory floor staff. In addition, you will have:

- Ability to work effectively with outside agencies (e.g ACC), contractors and other external stakeholders
- Excellent collaboration skills with an ability to develop strong relationships to drive culture change within various business units
