Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Corrections) Health Services lead the delivery of patient-focused primary health care services to tangata within corrections facilities across Aotearoa. Hōkai Rangi, our over-arching strategic direction, places the focus on health at the heart of our business. Building our frameworks from a Matauranga Māori basis is our focus to drive and support equity for Māori, which in turn will contribute to achieving our outcomes of reducing reoffending.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

We are seeking a** **Psychologist to join our mental health team based at Mt Eden Correctional Facility. As a Psychologist you will be working as part of the Intervention and Support Practice team providing psychological services to enhance the mental health and wellbeing of people in our care. The Intervention & Support Practice Team provides a range of mental health services by means of a multi-disciplinary team which includes psychologists, clinical nurse specialists, Māori mental health practitioners, mental health nurses, and clinical social workers. Our Mental Health team enjoy professional development opportunities, clinical and cultural supervision, and an environment with a vibrant and supportive team culture.

Effective clinical caseload management will include triage, assessment, and treatment approaches that are aligned to best practice mental health service provision. Our team is committed to modelling expert clinical practice and ensure a strong focus on Humanising and Healing - respecting the human dignity and inherent mana of all people in our care, and their whānau.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Demonstrable experience providing psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment;
- Experience or a strong willingness to work with Kaupapa Māori frameworks and services;
- Clear and concise communication skills - both written and verbal; and
- Strong people engagement, relationship-building and collaboration skills.

Applicants must have a minimum of a Masters Degree in Psychology, and eligible to be registered in New Zealand as a Psychologist.

**Utu ā-tau | Salary**

The full salary range for this position is $81,049 to $125,485. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
