**Mō te Tūranga | About the Role**

Our Financial Crime Operations team has an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join the team.

In this role you will be responsible for completion of functions within AML Operations, initially including enhanced customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and case investigation, focusing on ensuring that we are meeting our obligations for the Anti Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act (AML/CFT) legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

- Undertaking required customer due diligence activities by completion of reviews on existing customers to ensure they meet all compliance requirements.
- Use the BNZ Know Your Customer programme and where necessary conduct outreach to stakeholders/customers to ensure the accounts are compliant with legislation.
- Actioning or referring requests to/from the bank's frontline/relationship management channels in relation to management of customer cases.

To be successful in this role, you need to be flexible and be open and willingly to work across the various areas of financial crime to build and grow your skills and to help meet the demands of this busy function. You have excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to influence, develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will take pride in your attention to detail and have an operational understanding of AML/CFT Compliance. Your ability to work independently, manage expectations and accept accountability for deadlines and outcomes is essential to your success in this role.
