Our Mental Health services provide a range of integrated and comprehensive mental health assessments, treatments interventions and support for service users residing in the Counties Manukau catchment area. We aim to truly make a difference in the multicultural community that we serve.

**Internships will be available across the following teams**:
**Te Puawaitanga CAMHS with Paediatric consult Liaison Team (PCLT)**

Based in Springs Road, East Tamaki, Te Puawaitanga is a multi-disciplinary team that serves the both the urban areas from Manukau down to the rural areas of Pukekohe. The team works with tamariki and their whanau between the ages of 4 and 18 years. Psychologists in this team provide therapy, assessments, and community support. The team has a strong DBT and family therapy basis. There will also be an opportunity to spend a day a week of the internship in a intake setting at Middlemore hospital with our PCL team. This will afford you the opportunity to work with a range of mental health presentations not typically seen in a CAMHS.

**Two internships in Te Rawhiti CMHC**

Te Rawhiti is based in Highland Park in East Auckland and provides clinical care to the adult community in that area. The team is well established, with depth and much experience, and boasts the biggest psychology team in Counties, with six psychologists. We will be hosting two internships under two separate supervisors in 2026, and each of the two interns will also have access to a backup supervisor and the general team of psychologists. Both these opportunities offer many opportunities to learn and grow from such a diverse group of practitioners and models including DBT, CAT, and EMDR.

**Maternal Mental health**

Our Maternal Mental Health team is based in our district-wide services in Springs Rd, and forms part of our perinatal service for Counties Manukau. The Maternal Mental Health service focuses on the mental health needs of new mothers and their whanau. Prominent treatment models include trauma-informed care, attachment and relational processes, and EMDR. This internship will be under the supervision of two very experienced psychologists who will provide a rewarding internship and a depth of clinical skills in assessment and treatment.
