**Starting salary: $95,972 - $128,391 + superannuation**

**The role | Te tunga**
You will be providing proactive executive governance services to our internal and external governance boards and committees, which includes providing clear and practical governance advice, agenda preparation, scheduling, setting up and minute-taking of meetings, following up on actions, and commissioning, reviewing and distributing meeting papers.
In this role, you will be building strong working relationships with all members and key stakeholders, in particular the Chair, and supporting them to consistently work at their best. This includes ensuring that the governance bodies are provided with the right information, at the right time, to make well informed decisions.
You will be the link between the executive governance group and the wider organisation, helping to ensure the right level of visibility of decisions made by the various executive governance groups are clear and understood. You will use the insights you gain to optimise the way in which the governance bodies operate.
This role will enable you to build relationships with secretariats from across government to foster shared governance knowledge and broaden your network.
This role would suit someone who can bring:
- Proven experience in supporting the effective operation of executive governance groups, ability to operate to deadlines and plan work ahead.
- Experience at anticipating the needs of governance groups, in particular those of the Chair and the high-level needs of the organisation, where possible, to maintain the smooth operation of the governance groups.
- Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to contribute to and collaborate with senior leaders, and review and provide feedback to authors of governance papers.
- Excellent working knowledge of board and organisational statutory obligations including a working knowledge of the Public Services Commission Cabinet Fees Framework for appointing external members to governance groups.
- Ability to manage travel, accommodation and payment of fees for external members where required.
- Proven ability to write and convey technical information in an easy to consume format and synthesise important points from complex discussions.
- Understand the machinery of government, have political savvy and understand nuances of the political landscape.
