This pivotal role places you at the heart of communicating the policies and initiatives of the Executive Government to the New Zealand public. It is unique and rewarding work, in a high impact and genuinely fast-paced environment.
As a Senior Press Secretary, you will join a tight knit and trusted team responsible for supporting the Minister across her portfolios. You will be responsible for ensuring that all media communications from the Minister's office are consistent with the agreed priorities and messages of the Government, providing a strategic outlook, and supporting the Minister with the development and promotion of key strategies.

**What you'll bring to the role**:
- You will be an experienced political operator with a significant background in media, communications and/or public relations with experience relevant to Minister Willis' portfolios.
- A skilled strategist, you will be adept at both anticipating a story before it happens and creating the narrative.
- Your new role will require you to understand a range of complex material, with an eye for detail and the ability to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences, through a broad range of channels.
- You will have financial and economic understanding, such that you can communicate sometimes complex financial policy concepts.
- With a highly attuned awareness of both the media and the political landscape, you will be social media savvy and confident in writing speeches and press releases.
- In this highly relational environment, your advanced interpersonal skills will set you up for success, building the confidence of the Minister, your wider team, and coalition partners.
