**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The National Public Health Service within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We have an opportunity available to join our team as a** Public Health** **Communications Advisor** in a permanent, full-time role. The primary purpose of the role is to support the Communication Lead NPHS and other communication functions to deliver accessible, timely and appropriate information to communities and partners on public health prevention, promotion and protection themes. The role will see you provide advice on the development and delivery of communication plans for regional projects, national campaigns and events.
**Mōu | About you**
You are someone with demonstrated experience working across internal and external communication roles ideally within Local or Central Government, Community Services or Health Providers. You are ideally PIM trained with experience in an incident management environment, or awareness of the function.

- A relevant tertiary qualification is not necessary but is preferred preferably in a communication or engagement function
- Proven experience in, and awareness of engagement with diverse community groups especially iwi Māori, Pacific communities and disabled people with a demonstrated contribution to developing and delivering projects/plans that have had a positive impact in these communities
- Strong written communication, editing and content creation skills across a wide range of channels
- Excellent relationship building abilities, able to foster effective working relationships with diverse people in different locations
- Demonstrated planning and time management skills so able to multitask, reprioritise and react to issues that arise
