**Objective**:
To ensure that farming activities are conducted in a way that meets best management practices while also maintaining a commercial focus.
**Job Description (Key Responsibilities)**:
- Oversee daily farm operations, ensuring efficient and effective fruit picking and harvesting activities.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of farm workers, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Monitor crop health and growth, implementing best practices for pest control, fertilization, irrigation, and pruning.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including crop yields, labor hours, and resource usage.
- Assist in the procurement of supplies and equipment necessary for farm operations.
- Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on the farm promptly and effectively.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
**Key attributes and requirements**:
- Level 1 (NZQF or equivalent qualification or higher) **OR** at least should have Secondary Qualification
- Work experience in a similar role is highly preferred, however, not mandatory as on-the-job training will be offered.
- On job training will be provided
- Strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve challenges in farm operations promptly.
- Ability to build and foster teamwork among farm workers while maintaining a positive work environment.
- Adaptability to changing operational priorities and business needs.
- Commitment to ensuring efficiency in daily operations while meeting quality and productivity targets.
- Attention to detail in monitoring crop health, resource allocation, and compliance with regulations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills for effective scheduling and resource planning.
- Leadership ability to guide, train, and motivate team members for optimal performance.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 60 per week
Schedule:
- Rotating roster
- Shift work
- Weekend availability
