Significant growth in the business brings opportunities for Grafting Manager / Orchard Cadet to join our dynamic team. In your role of Grafting Manager / Orchard Cadet, you will play a crucial role in leading our nursery and orchard grafting operation in summer and winter months as well as leading our high performing teams for the rest of the year to support our mission of creating and managing the best kiwifruit orchards in the world.

Reporting to Orchard Manager, your areas of responsibility may include:

- Complete the start of the day process with the team, including daily toolbox meetings to ensure Health and Safety compliance, productivity, and quality standards.
- Lead and motivate the team to achieve all quality specifications, fostering a culture of high performance and teamwork.
- Lead grafting processes throughout season, managing ‘flow’ of work processes and time and motion efficiencies toward timely completion of grafting Bruno and Bounty varieties to rootstocks.
- Graft varieties to root stocks required by the client.
- Complete all administrative requirements.
- Maintain crop production by completing orchard tasks within the orchard cycle.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in a kiwifruit industry understanding the kiwifruit cycle and orchard tasks.
- In-depth knowledge of kiwifruit grafting processes and techniques.
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with different stakeholders.
- Commitment to creating a safe working environment.
- Flexibility to work in variable weather conditions and adapt to seasonal demands.
- Valid driver's license
