Based in Nelson, Bowater Toyota are on the hunt for a Workshop Controller/Foreman to join their friendly team. As an integral member of the Service team this role will see you primarily responsible for leading a team of Automotive Technicians in their Nelson branch. Hours of work are Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm.
As the hub of the service department you will be the glue that holds everything together - the connection between the technicians and the wider Bowater Toyota team. As such this role will combine both hands on work with the day to day running of the team to ensure that deadlines and customer expectations are being met and that everything is running smoothly.
We believe that an EXCELLENT attitude and a desire to learn is the key to being successful in this role - and we want to help you succeed As such you will be well supported to grow your skills with opportunities to train and develop.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring that day-to-day service jobs are running smoothly
Meeting customer deadlines
Allocating work to the Technicians
Estimating repair costs
Keeping customers updated on the progress of their job
Invoicing
Ensuring that productivity and efficiency targets are being met
Assisting the Service Advisors with technical queries
To be successful in this role you will need:
Previous experience as a Workshop Controller/Foreman or you could be an Automotive Technician wanting to advance your career
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build good relationships
A willingness to learn
Exceptional communication skills
To be computer savvy
