**Mo te turanga | About the role**
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Ranger with loads of practical skills to join our Operations team in maintaining high standards of care for our walking tracks and other facilities in our Auckland reserves.
As a Ranger, you'll work in a team of two, and at times with our wider operations team on other conservation tasks.
The role will be focussed on:
- Keeping popular visitor sites such as Goat Island Bay (home to New Zealand's first marine reserve) looking their best for visitors.
- Maintaining water and wastewater systems.
- Keeping our walking tracks safe and up to standard.
- Looking after historic places according to requirements for heritage sites.
This is a permanent, full-time role based out of Warkworth.

If you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you:
- Physically fit and able to walk long distances carrying tools and equipment
- A range of practical skills
- Experience and/or qualifications with motorised tools
- High standards of care for outdoor facilities
- Able to work with others in a small team
- Flexibility to deal with changing priorities and work plans
- A commitment to health and safety and a willingness to contribute to a safety-first work environment and positive safety culture
- Full New Zealand driver's licence
Desirable certifications:
- Chainsaw
- 4WD
- Growsafe
- First Aid

The salary range for this position is $60,703 to $66,911 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
