Adviser Financial System Statistics - PermanentA permanent opportunity in our Financial System Statistics team in a key role contributing to excellence and continuous improvement. Te tūranga - The roleThe Financial System Statistics team provides end to end statistical services, from collecting relevant data to analysis and dissemination of key metrics and insights. This team runs an increasingly wide variety of data collections, including our sample surveys, granular securities data, and aggregate financial reporting from across the industry.This role is a mentor and technical leader both within the team and wider department. In this role you will report to the Manager Financial Systems Statistics and lead a team of analyst who manage the regular production, analysis, and dissemination of statistics and insights.In this role you will be providing expert knowledge and input to work of the team and contribute to the enhancement of existing collections and new data initiatives as well as contributing to broader organisational projects. - Relevant tertiary qualification supported ideally by minimum of 6 years relevant work experience
- Monetary policy, financial sector and macro-economic understanding
- The ability to communicate clearly to and influence a range of audiences
- Proven ability to lead project work from an end-to-end perspective with a continuous improvement mentality/approach
- Experience in workflow management
- The ability to develop, motivate and coach an effective team
- Proven experience in development, maintenance and enhancement of end-to-end use of data from collection through to insights and analysis in reports to a wide ranged audience and seniority
- Proven experience using Excel and the programming language R/Python for cleaning, analysing and reporting on data from a variety of sources
- Strong ability in statistical and data visualisation technique
- Methodological experience in designing sample surveys would be an advantage
- Outstanding team player, comfortable working with all department staff to achieve our objectives
- Intellectual curiosity, pro-active approach to work and a passion for data
