Rōpū Taha Ture | Legal Services Group is looking for a Principal Solicitor for 12 months while the current principal is the acting Chief Legal Officer.

**You must have**:
- a law degree and a current practising certificate (or ability to hold a practising certificate)
- extensive experience in practising law, preferably in government
- a thorough knowledge of administrative law.
Familiarity with the Public Service Act and the Crown Entities Act is preferable, together with an understanding of the public management system and government and parliamentary processes. Employment law expertise and/or policy experience would be beneficial but not required. However, we also know that the right person will be able to learn these things on the job.
Working alongside our small Legal Services Group, you will be able to operate with collegial support but a high degree of independence. Working at Te Kawa Mataaho will give you a unique perspective on New Zealand's public management system and will equip you well for future opportunities.
This position usually pays between $122,380 to $150,940 depending on skills and experience.
