Korero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Aka Whai is establishing a legal team to advise on all legal matters to the Board, Executive Leadership and Senior Leaders to enable informed decision-making on Te Aka Whai Ora strategic, operational, compliance, outward facing activities.
Lead the provision of written and oral legal advise on various matters relating to the legislation administered by the Ministry of Health and other Ministries and legislations with which Te Aka Whai Ora must comply.
You will lead the establishment of partnerships with stakeholders to ensure legal expertise and advise is provided to inform future decision making for work programmes that best support the delivery of Te Aka Whai Ora priorities and objectives as set by the Board and/or Minister.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- A tertiary qualification in Law
- Qualified and eligible to hold a practising certificate as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action
- At least seven years' post-qualification experience working in a legal position
- Working knowledge and experience with the machinery of government and working with legislation under the scrutiny of the general public.
