About the Role
THIS ROLE CAN BE BASED AT ANY OF OUR NZ DATACOM LOCATIONS
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Payroll is responsible for leading and growing our SaaS engineering team as we initiate the transformation of our market leading payroll product, DataPay. This role is highly suited to someone with a blend of SaaS technology and SaaS platform strategy experience as well as a keen interest in the commercial dynamics of SaaS products. The role will be responsible for developing and implementing changes in approach, methodology, technology and architecture to enhance outcomes for our existing customers as well leading the modernisation of our future payroll offering. This role will lead the development of an innovative SaaS cloud-based technology solution for our payroll customers in NZ, Australia and potentially globally.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in the design, establishment and delivery of complex technology solutions on modern cloud platforms
- Strong leadership skills and able to navigate change across architecture and development practices
- Expert collaborator and extensive experience working with Product Teams using Agile development pratices
- Able to lead the estimation and capital budgeting for our investments in SaaS software with board level visibility.
- Broad, in-depth knowledge of Financial and Regulatory technology solutions using SaaS technologies
- Advanced knowledge of devops and cloud computing models including optimising for cost and scale.
- Experience designing solutions using multiple technologies from front end to back end.
- Ability to operate at C Level both within Datacom as well as with customers and partners where required as part of evangelising our saas products in market.
**Responsibilities**:
- Leading the architecture and engineering practice through change as we re-imagine our product for the future of payroll
- Collaborate with other CTOs in the SaaS business to ensure that commonality of technology and patterns is achieved where appropriate ensuring we re-use and create re-useable technology where possible/practical.
- Identify, develop, and drive transformative initiatives and strategies in our SaaS product business
- Champion the role of innovation by aligning product strategies with innovative technology.
- Bring innovation, thought leadership and vision to our product and technology strategic planning
- Provide governance for Payrolls solutions as part of our wider SaaS portfolio.
- Identify new and innovative technologies and services that are relevant to Datacom customers, with a particular focus on multi-service line opportunities and service constructs.
- Maintain extensive relationships with a broad range of technology providers in the SaaS industry to support valuable insights into future technology trends and opportunities to partner on initiatives.
- Works collaboratively with other SaaS Technology leaders to understand cost metrics, staffing ratios, efficiency thresholds etc. as they relate to the creation and delivery of saas solutions.
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure Datacom has competitively priced solutions that are attractive in the market, profitable and appropriately address risk.
