**About the Role**
We are seeking an Emergency Medicine (ED) Registrar to join our Emergency Department here at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

Our department is accredited as a tier 2 non-major referral site for training with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM), offering 24 months of ED training. You’ll benefit from a structured teaching program with abundant learning opportunities, setting you up for success in your Emergency Medicine career.

**About the Team/Service/ Location**

Our Emergency Department handles around 50,000 attendances per year, with a 30% admission rate. The general patient acuity is high, with a significant volume of major trauma cases. We operate four observation unit beds, providing care for a wide range of conditions. Registrars enjoy many opportunities to undertake procedures and lead resuscitations in the emergency department.

Hawke’s Bay Hospital is a 400-bed secondary level public hospital in Hastings, serving a population of over 180,000 people. We offer both acute and elective care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, including paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, and more. Although we don’t provide cardiothoracic and neurosurgery, we are supported by a strong regional ICU team, ensuring comprehensive care for a diverse patient population.

**About you**
- You’re a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) PGY3 or above, ideally with at least 6 months of experience working in an Emergency Department at a Registrar level
- You are registered or eligible for general registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand
