**National Intelligence Centre**

The purpose of the National Intelligence Centre (NIC) is to support decision makers across all six drivers of demand: organised crime, drugs, mental health, families, youth, alcohol, and road policing, as well as national security.

**The Opportunity**

You will join the National Intelligence Centre and work with a small team of geospatial experts who are delivering critical information across police and helping others to understand the value of geospatial mapping.

Our aim is to leverage the geographic component inherent in virtually all data to create a platform for capturing, integrating, and visualising information. Geospatial data is not only limited to mapping, it’s also the basis for undertaking analysis used to create geographic models and data visualization for more accurate modelling and predictions of trends.

This role will be pivotal for delivering technical expertise and solutions.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Administration and improvement of enterprise GIS technology and development of enterprise-wide spatial services, including web-based delivery.
- Provide geospatial operational and technical support and expertise.
- Work closely with Operational policing teams.
- Development of **GIS** support and training.
- Advise and assist in establishing and implementing repeatable processes for key team functions and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Assisting the Geospatial Manager to deliver operational projects and daily operations.
- Assists the ongoing design, enhancement, maintenance, administration, and implementation of **ArcGIS Enterprise** to meet Police requirements.
- Provides operational assistance to investigations or major events when required.
- You will have expertise in **FME, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, Python Scripting**.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Provision and delivery of high-quality spatial analysis, operational projects, and cartographic services with a strong emphasis on customer management.

**Experience - you will have**:

- High level of technical skills (must be highly capable in **ESRI technologies** with 5 years plus experience in **AGOL, ArcPro, and FME**)
- High degree of Enterprise / GIS software expertise
- Working knowledge of Python, SQL, and Arcade, SharePoint 365, BusinessObjects and SAS.
- Relational database management skills and experience.
- Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving approach and excellent judgement
- Programme management skills
- Top class communication skills both verbal and written.
- Can do attitude.
- Open to innovation and development
- Resilience and ability to think, act and adapt at speed.
- Solid understanding of Intelligence.

**Additional Information**:

- The successful applicant must reside within the Wellington Region and be prepared to travel to Districts when needed.
- Must be able to hold and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance. We will only consider New Zealand citizens or residents.
