**About the Role**
We are seeking a proactive and clinically experienced Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT), to join our team for an 18-month fixed term opportunity, in a newly created position, Radiology Clinical Coordinator. This role is designed to enhance the performance of Radiology services across Capital, Coast and the wider CCHV District, supporting national health targets and improving patient access to diagnostic imaging.
As the Radiology Clinical Coordinator, you will provide clinical oversight of referral triage, outsourcing, and Radiology service capacity management, ensuring timely and efficient access to imaging services. You - ll work closely with modality leads, radiologists, and external providers to streamline workflows, reduce delays, and support strategic decision-making.
You will also support data-informed service improvement, working alongside analysts to monitor imaging capacity, wait times, and outsourcing utilisation, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives across the service.
By taking on key coordination responsibilities, this role will relieve radiologists and administrative staff from operational tasks, allowing them to focus on clinical care and high-value functions.
This role is ideal for a senior MIT with strong clinical knowledge, time management, and problem-solving skills, looking to step into a leadership and coordination position.
**About the Team/Service Location**
You - ll be part of a high-performing, multi-disciplinary Radiology team based at Wellington and Kenepuru Hospitals, with connections across the wider CCHV district. The Radiology service provides a full range of diagnostic and interventional imaging, including CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, and General Radiography.
The Capital Coast Radiology team is committed to continuous improvement, quality care, and collaborative working relationships. You - ll be supported by experienced clinicians, administrators, and analysts, and will play a key role in aligning Radiology operations with national health priorities such as:
- Faster Cancer Treatment (FCT)
- Shorter Emergency Department stays
- Timely First Specialist Assessments (FSAs)
- Elective treatment access
**About you**
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Registered MIT or equivalent clinical qualification in Radiology
- Strong clinical knowledge and experience in diagnostic imaging and intervention
- Proven ability in time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking
- Familiarity with radiology systems and IT infrastructure
Desirable
- Experience in radiology informatics or clinical coordination
- Project or change management experience
