Our purpose is to put our energy where it matters, to decarbonise the New Zealand energy sector and promote #changematters. We are passionate about our mission and proud to have a tribe of people behind us working towards a common purpose. With such an ambitious goal, you might ask yourself - how does this opportunity help support a better, cleaner NZ?
**Technical Administrators are pivotal to what we do. **The custodians of key documents that are used for work to be planned and permitted on, they live and breathe AutoCAD, creating drawings as well as looking after key site technical information, storage systems and processes, and providing administration support and services for the Taranaki team.
**Job Description**:
**Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role***
Based in our Stratford Power Station, this role is jam-packed with important mahi, from creating drawings in AutoCAD (2D, mostly from a template - it’s only occasionally that you’d need to create from scratch) to maintaining our generating plant systems and databases, assisting with project documentation, and keeping our Taranaki library & archive documentation tidy and up to date.
We’ve got loads of work on the go and more coming up, making this role _busy -_ you’ll certainly never be bored. A keen eye for detail will be key as you draft in AutoCAD, update systems and databases, check drawings in and out, and make sure everything across the board is fully accurate and up to date. Our teams rely on these documents, so it’s critical you’re onto it.
The Technical Administrator also acts as back-up to our Administrator. Being a small team, we all wear different hats from time to time, and this role is no different. With 35 people in total at Stratford (some working shifts across a 24/7 roster, so never that many on-site at once) we’re used to working collaboratively, mucking in to help with different work as and when required. For this role, that will mean supporting from time to time with contractor inductions, site security systems, travel requests for people coming to site, SAP, and other administrative bits and pieces.
**Qualifications**:
**Ko wai koe | About you**
Methodical by nature, you’re highly organised and a great communicator, comfortable dealing with a variety of people and shifting priorities without missing a beat. Your attention to detail and strong work ethic shines in all the mahi you do. You’ve had a decent amount of experience with AutoCAD - you’re comfortable creating and making changes to 2D drawings independently and are proud of their quality - and through years of experience in similar work you’ve developed a high level of computer literacy, accuracy, and problem-solving know-how.
This is a busy role, so it’s imperative to be well organised with clear systems for managing your workload, able to stay on top of things without compromising communication. We’re a tight-knit team who do a great job and want to maintain our reputation for service with a smile - we’re professional and hard-working but like to have a laugh, too. You’ll need to be equally driven to deliver a high and consistent level of customer service to key stakeholders.
Experience with SAP or contract and project management would be great too if you have it.
Additional Information
This is a full-time permanent role, based on-site at our Stratford Power Station working from 7am/7.30am to 3.30pm/4pm, Monday to Friday.
**There are a bunch of perks to being a permanent Contact kaimahi (employee). **Along with great leadership, teammates, personal and professional development, you’ll enjoy free health insurance cover, uncapped sick leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, options to purchase additional leave and spread the cost throughout the year, free flu vaccinations, employee support services, discounts on Contact Energy products, and more.
Contact Energy is committed to being an inclusive employer. We want people to be themselves, after all, they can't be anyone else
