**About the Role**:
As a Workshop Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include cleaning, lubricating, and performing basic maintenance on various machinery such as forklifts, excavators, wharf vans, bulk grabs, materials handlers, loaders, terminal tractors, and other vehicles utilized in the Qube operational environment. Additionally, you will be tasked with inspecting machinery and reporting any damage post-operations. You will work closely with our team of mechanics, providing essential support. This position is ideal for a qualified mechanic who wishes to step back from main mechanical duties and assist the workshop with general tasks.

**Status**: Permanent role working Monday - Friday 0700 -1600

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Liaising with the Workshop Supervisor to carry out repairs and servicing during downtime.
- Fuelling machinery and accurately recording consumption on a daily spreadsheet.
- Retrieving and dropping off machinery, cleaning the interior and exterior, inspecting for damage, and reporting all damage found.
- Recording all hours worked and jobs completed against individual machines on a timesheet.
- Greasing excavators, materials handlers, forklifts, and other machinery, as well as lubricating front end attachments, grapples, log heads, and changing nipples.
- Topping up auto lube systems, blowing out radiator screens, greasing wharf trailers, and carrying out basic maintenance.
- Swapping front end attachments to suit specific jobs and performing any other tasks required to keep machinery running in good condition.

**Attributes required**:

- Level 4 Mechanical Trade Certified plus proven experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Physically fit and genuinely keen to work
- Must have minimum full class 1 licence - (Class 2 licence and OSH forklift certificate is beneficial)
