**About the Role**:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced **Perinatal Loss Midwife Specialist** to join our Women’s Health Division. This role provides expert clinical leadership, care coordination, and emotional support for individuals and families experiencing perinatal loss. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of safe, culturally responsive, and evidence-based care that aligns with Health NZ Counties Manukau’s vision and values.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**_ Clinical Leadership & Expert Care:_**
- Provide specialist midwifery care and support for individuals experiencing pregnancy loss.
- Work collaboratively with medical, midwifery, and allied health teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Lead and develop best practice models of care for perinatal loss.
- Support and provide abortion services in accordance with the Interim Standards for Abortion Services in New Zealand.
- Offer ongoing emotional and bereavement support to families.

**_Education & Staff Development:_**
- Provide education, training, and mentorship to midwifery and medical staff on best practices in perinatal loss care.
- Develop and implement orientation programs and study sessions for key departments.
- Advocate for a culturally safe and inclusive approach to perinatal loss care.

**_Service & Quality Improvement:_**
- Contribute to the strategic development of perinatal loss services.
- Lead clinical policy and guideline development related to perinatal loss.
- Ensure adherence to legal, ethical, and cultural frameworks, including the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Participate in Perinatal Mortality Meetings, case reviews, and reporting to the National Mortality Review Committee (NMRC).
- Support quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

**About You**:

- NZ Registered Midwife with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
- 5+ years of midwifery experience.
- Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in a relevant field.
- Commitment to equity, cultural safety and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.

**Desired**:

- Demonstrated clinical expertise in perinatal loss and bereavement care.
