This is a full time position of 40 hours per week

The remuneration range for this role is $117,099 to $165,316 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience

**The opportunity**

As the Principal Advisor Modelling, you will have a key role in shaping the future modelling programme, aligning strategies to support planning, capital delivery, and operations. You'll work closely with senior leaders, to align the modelling programme, driving digital innovation and providing insights from hydraulic models to inform decision-making across the organisation. Bring your expertise to support operational teams, strategy, and planning groups

You will get to:
- Support the Modelling Manager with influencing and driving modelling activities to support the organisation
- Lead and/or support the provision of modelling for future three water network projects
- Provide technical leadership in determining flood risk analysis, water quality, water supply network and wastewater network performance from modelling
- Mentor, guide and train less experienced members within the team
- Participate in ongoing development and improvement to Wellington Waters modelling processes and practices

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Ideally 15+ years' experience in hydraulic modelling in water and/or stormwater and/or wastewater
- Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline (for example, engineering or science)
- Proven collaboration skills - able to prioritise the most important issues, bring the right people together and facilitate robust decision making
- Experience in coaching and mentoring other staff to assist their development
- Strategic thinking with strong written and verbal communication skills
