**The Role | Te mahi**
We are seeking a flexible and reliable Kitchen Porter/Steward to join our amazing kitchen team at Sudima Christchurch Airport Hotel.
**Responsibilities | Ngā haepapa**
- Wash and clean utensils and dishes, and make sure they are stored appropriately.
- Handle, sort, store and distribute food items.
- Wash, peel, chop, cut and cook foodstuffs to help prepare salads and desserts.
- Sort and dispose of rubbish and recycling.
- Organize laundering of kitchen linen.
- Clean food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas.
- Follow and enforce heath and hygiene standards.
- Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation.
- Display the company values of: We care, We do the right thing and we work together.
**Requirements**:

- _Enjoy practical work. _
- _Ability to work quickly and safely with mínimal supervision._
- _Ability to work calmly under pressure._
- _Ability to lift heavy pots etc._
- _Be enthusiastic and show initiative_
- Flexible to work rostered shifts over a 7 day week including public holidays and weekends.
- Current valid rights to work in New Zealand.
