- Exciting opportunity to work as part of the Alexander Turnbull Library's Curatorial Team, with a particular focus on building and managing the Photographic Archive.
- Lead the promotion and sharing of Aotearoa New Zealand's photographic heritage, facilitating and enhancing use while also promoting iwi/Māori access.
- As part of a holistic system, work collaboratively with colleagues across the Alexander Turnbull Library to improve the representation of all New Zealanders, and especially of historically underrepresented groups.

**To be successful in the role you will have**:

- Experience working with cultural heritage collections in a Library, Archives or similar organisation, with specialist skills in formats of relevance to photographic collections.
- The talent to communicate effectively with wide-ranging audiences and communities.
- Demonstrated understanding of the balance between 'protecting privacy and copyright' and 'facilitating access to collections'.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and engagement with archival theories and principles, especially strong appraisal, accessioning, as well as arrangement and description experience and knowledge.
- Experience of working with donors and an ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with donors and dealers, your team, the wider business, and documentary heritage sector colleagues
