About You
You are a confident experienced Leader who with experience, is easily adaptable and able to lead change initiatives to achieve strategic goals and outcomes.
You will have in depth knowledge of experience in the robust delivery of cultural services in a prison environment. You can confidently operate effectively in a Maori cultural setting and have understanding and commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi (Treaty of Waitangi)
About the Role
Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will oversee the implementation of the Hokai Rangi strategies at all levels of the organisation, site-wide across sectors, providing the support and advice required to reduce Tane re-offending and successfully reintegrate them with their whanau and into their communities.
You will be the key point of contact across the leadership team and with internal and external stakeholders.
**Key Functions Include**: You will be required to collaborate with external stakeholders and the Department to provide insight and alignment with Hokai Rangi Principles. Actively support the Assistant Director of Cultural Services in building networks and effective communications with iwi, mana whenua groups, whanau ora and other organisations to improve the reintegration pathways for our Paiaki. Lead projects, complete general investigative work on any matter as requested (not specific enough) by the Prison Director or Assistant Direction of Cultural Services
**To be successful in this role, you will have**: Experience in Leadership and or Senior Advisory roles A commitment to better outcomes for Māori and an appreciation for the partnership principles in the te Tiriti o Waitangi To support Hokai Rangi initiatives at Kohuora The ability to coordinate and deliver Departmental strategies and initiatives Management experience of offenders and risk, needs, responsivity model for effective offender rehabilitation Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain strong working relations with Tane, staff, external agencies, and all stakeholders
